A Place for You
At GVBC, we believe everybody is a somebody and everyone is a work in progress. That means we want you to come just as you are, whatever your story may be.
Service Times
10:00 AM Sunday Morning Worship (FLC)
6:00 PM Prayer Meeting - Every 2nd & 4th Sunday (FLC)
What is a Service Like
Our services typically last about 75 minutes. We offer opportunities for worship through song, prayer, reading scripture and teaching. Each Sunday, you'll hear a message that points to the grace in Jesus Christ, which changes everything. Our music is mostly acoustic driven, and includes a mix of current and legacy song selections. We have communion on the first week of each month.
A Place for Your Kids
We love families, and all kids start in the main service; if you’d prefer, they can remain with you for the whole service. After the opening worship, kids are invited to depart with the Kids Team to Children’s Church.
Our Nursery and Children's Church programs provide a safe and secure place for your kids to have fun, be loved, and learn about Jesus.
Nursing Room
We recently added a new cozy nursing room upstairs. There you can find some rocking chairs, a changing table, a selection of baby toys, and a TV with a live screen of the sermon. This is a great options for those who desire a more private quiet space for a fussy or nursing baby during service.
Where is kids ministry located?
The Nursery is located at the end of the hall in our pre-school facility. Children’s Church also meets down the same hallway in the fist classroom on the right. Feel free ask someone to show it to you when you arrive.
What's it like at kids ministry?
We make it a priority for your kids to enjoy a safe and fun environment where they learn about Jesus. Their time includes activities, games, music, stories, and small group time. Snacks are also served so we’ll need know about allergies.
We currently provide classes from PreK to 2nd Grade.
Young Disciples Youth Group
We’ve launched a youth group for 3rd grade and up! The Young Disciples meet monthly on the first Sunday during the Sunday sermon and for social activities throughout the year.
Location, Parking and Entry
Glacier Valley Baptist Church is located in Juneau, AK, right in the middle of the Mendenhall Valley. Our address is 3921 Mendenhall Loop Road.
Parking
We generally have ample and easily accessible parking. From the car to the Worship Center will be less than a minute. Here’s a diagram of our three main parking areas. We sometimes share our campus on Sundays with other worship gatherings and the front ‘main’ parking area is used by them (but only to about 20% capacity). We encourage GVBC visitors to park between the buildings or in the back area by our Valley Baptist Academy preschool.
Entrances
Here’s the thing, right now, we don’t meet in the Main Sanctuary; we sometimes share that space with other worship gatherings. The Worship Center for GVBC is in our Family Life Center facility (see FLC on the aerial and photo of the main entry.)
